Performance Intelligence Reports
Performance Intelligence Reports are AI-generated multi-section analyses of your published dashboard data. They provide deep, audience-tailored insights that go beyond what the real-time AI chat can offer, and are designed to be shared with stakeholders as polished documents.
What Are Performance Reports?
Each report is an 8-section document generated by RWRD's AI engine analyzing the full state of a published dashboard snapshot. Reports are:
- Snapshot-specific -- Generated from a specific published snapshot, not live data
- Audience-tailored -- Three versions for different audiences (Board, Executive, External)
- Cached -- Generated once and stored; subsequent views load the cached version instantly
- Exportable -- Available as in-app reading or downloadable PDF
Generating Reports
Reports are generated at publish time:
- When publishing a dashboard (see Publishing Dashboards), check the "Pre-generate Performance Reports" option.
- After the snapshot is published, RWRD begins generating reports in the background.
- Generation does not block the publish flow -- you can continue using the dashboard while reports are being generated.
- Once complete, reports are accessible from the published snapshot view.
Reports can also be regenerated later (see Report Versioning and Regeneration).
Report Audiences
Each published snapshot can have reports tailored for three different audiences:
Board Report
- Governance-focused with compliance context
- Emphasizes strategic priorities and regulatory implications
- Formal tone suited for board presentations
- Highlights high-level risk posture and fiduciary concerns
Executive Report
- Operationally detailed with performance driver analysis
- Focuses on team accountability and execution gaps
- Includes tactical recommendations with specific action items
- References individual metrics and their trajectories
Stakeholder (External) Report
- Simplified language accessible to external stakeholders
- Positive-but-honest framing with benchmark comparisons
- Focuses on organizational strengths and market positioning
- Appropriate for investors, partners, or external reviewers
The 8 Report Sections
Every report contains eight sections, each generated by a dedicated AI prompt with full context from the dashboard snapshot:
Executive Summary -- Overall dashboard health assessment, key performance trends, and critical issues requiring attention. A concise overview suitable for the first page of any presentation.
Health Score Deep Dive -- Detailed analysis of each health score component (OKR, Financial, Risk, Freshness), historical trend interpretation, and momentum assessment.
OKR Progress -- Achievement rates by objective, on-track vs off-track analysis, key result momentum, and strategic pillar alignment gaps.
Financial Performance -- Metric-by-metric health analysis with industry benchmark comparisons, trend direction, and variance explanations.
Risk Landscape -- Risk category status overview, KRI trend analysis, mitigation progress assessment, and emerging risk identification.
Network Dynamics -- AI-powered cross-domain relationship analysis, systemic vulnerability identification, cascade risk assessment, and interdependency insights across your OKR, financial, and risk data.
Recommendations -- Prioritized strategic recommendations synthesized from all preceding sections, with specific actions, owners, and timeframes.
Data Quality Appendix -- Assessment of data completeness, freshness, source coverage, and gaps. Flags metrics that are stale, missing targets, or have insufficient history for trend analysis.
Viewing Reports
To view a generated report:
- Navigate to a published snapshot (from the Publish History sidebar or the Viewer landing page).
- Click View Reports (appears once reports have been generated).
- The Report Viewer opens with:
- A section navigation sidebar on the left listing all 8 sections
- The report content in the main area, rendered with formatted headings, lists, and emphasis
- An audience selector to switch between Board, Executive, and Stakeholder versions
- Click any section in the sidebar to jump to it.
Reports are rendered as rich formatted text within the application, making them easy to read and navigate.
PDF Export
To download a report as a PDF:
- Open the Report Viewer for the desired report.
- Click the Download PDF button.
- RWRD generates a branded PDF document containing all 8 sections, complete with:
- RWRD branding and company name
- Snapshot metadata (publish date, audience type, generation timestamp)
- All 8 sections with proper headings and formatting
- The PDF is automatically named:
RWRD-Report-[Audience]-[Date].pdf
PDFs are generated client-side, so no additional server calls are needed.
Report Versioning and Regeneration
Reports support versioning for iterative refinement:
- Each report has a version number starting at 1
- Admins can regenerate any report by clicking the Regenerate button in the Report Viewer
- Regeneration creates a new version (e.g., v1 becomes v2), with updated
regenerated_attimestamp andregenerated_byuser - The regeneration uses the same published snapshot data -- it does not pull live data
- Previous versions are tracked for audit purposes
Why regenerate? If the AI produces a section that could be more focused, or if you want to retry after a partial generation failure, regeneration gives you a fresh analysis of the same data.
Report Email Delivery
When reports are generated alongside a publish, they can be included in the notification emails sent to Viewers:
- The publish notification email can include the generated report as context
- Each selected Viewer receives their own email with the report information
- Emails are delivered via the Resend email service with RWRD-branded HTML templates
This enables a seamless workflow: publish the dashboard, generate reports, and distribute everything to stakeholders in a single action.
